Jason - Lead Programmer

Hello World!

Allow me to introduce myself; I am Jason Mackey the lead programmer at Marketing Blendz. When you choose to have us develop and nurture your company’s website into something intriguing and attractive, I will be the one making sure everything functions so that a user’s interaction with the site is a smooth one.

My initial expertise in this field was obtained from attending the Computer Science course at Vanier College. The courses provided by them gave me the knowledge and tools to go out into the corporate world and refine my programming skills. In any industry that deals with technology, you must always be capable and have the desire to learn new things, because if you don’t keep up to date, you will soon find what you have to offer is obsolete. Vanier helped in refining my ability to go out and find answers on my own rather than relying on someone else to hand me the solution. With the well rounded knowledge that they provided me, I can take any programming issue you have for web and come back to you with a solution that best suits your needs.

Now I will admit that web development was not always my end goal, it had become that about mid-way through college. During my life I have thrown a ton of time into gaming, to such an extent that some people would refer to me as being a “hardcore” gamer. This led me to want to be a game developer over anything else, as I was curious how the games I played were created and it encouraged me to want to create something as brilliant as well. What I didn’t realize was just how much schooling was required to even get your foot in the door. School had always seemed like a chore to me, and not something I cared to put much effort in. I knew though that sometimes in order to obtain what you want most you have to put in the effort and push through. By going to school with the intentions of becoming a game developer, I was introduced to web development, which instantly spiked my interest.

The courses for web development were probably the only courses I felt able to spend hours upon hours working on; to study code, or complete assignments without the realization that so much time had passed was awesome. This is what made me realize that web development is actually the field of work that best interests me. I found more satisfaction from web development because of the quicker gratification you got from completing something. The entertainment from programming and occasionally styling a site was definitely helpful as well.

On a more personal note when not working at Marketing Blendz developing websites I find myself doing the sociable thing. After a day of work I’ll get home and jump on my computer open up vent to chat with my mates and then open up an MMO or FPS to play with them. I know it’s pretty much as expected, the typical programming nerd but the weekends don’t always resolve around gaming and technology. Most weekends I find myself out downtown in some bar drinking with friends and creating memories you probably never want to tell your children about.

So that’s a little bit about whom I am and how I found my way here at Marketing Blendz. If you end up choosing to work with our company I very much look forward to getting to know you, and will in no doubt be able to satisfy all your programming needs :)

Best Regards,

Jason Mackey Lead Programmer  (a.k.a Ifking)
